Due to a “procedural glitch”, the Mississippi Legislature has never officially ratified the 13th Amendement. On February 7th, 2013 the Federal Register confirmed the State of Mississippi had ratified the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, abolishing slavery, only 148 years after the U.S. adopted the amendment
It is amazing that there are still those in our nation who cannot come to the realization that slavery is wrong, and celebrating those who supported it in the past, is still wrong.
